Garnet Lee Tucker Gilson Stacey

1943-2023

EAST LIVERPOOL - Garnet Lee Tucker Gilson Stacey of Calcutta passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 5, 2023, at UPMC Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 80.

Born in East Liverpool Feb. 13, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Keith and Garnet Calhoun Tucker, where she was raised with much love with her four siblings. Growing up Garnet loved walking to church with her siblings, riding her horses, fishing and racing stock cars with her dad, even winning Dahlia Queen one year. Garnet was an East Liverpool High School graduate of 1961. She was a member of Second Church of Christ in East End most of her life and the past three years at House of Prayer in Calcutta. Garnet enjoyed gardening, camping, birds, animals of all kinds, GOD, and most of all was spending time with her family and friends. She married the late Perry Olan Gilson in 1964 and together they raised two sons, Bob and Brad. She worked several years in retail at JC Penney's in East Liverpool.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her two amazing sons, Robert "Bob" Keith Gilson and Bradley Thomas Gilson and his wife "Mikki," all of East Liverpool, and her three grandchildren, Perri Brynn, Ralyn Brook and Braylee Dawn; her siblings George (Beverly) Tucker of Milo, Maine, Patty (late John) Murphy of Granby, Conn., Cheryl (late Virgil "Bunk") Williams, friend Tom of Calcutta and Tammy (late Bill) Lucas of East Liverpool; many nieces and nephews; Corey (George), Jennifer, Jason, Kim (John), Keith (Maria), Eric, Rachel (John) and Ashlee; several great-nieces and -nephews, Nathaniel, Rob, Connor, Madison, Jaylie, Kaden and McKinna; her best friend of many years Charlie Lewis and her four legged friend, Tucker.

A special thanks to East Liverpool City Hospital, UPMC Mercy Hospital, Orchards Rehab Center and her special caretaker Dawn.

Evangelist Rico Brown and Pastor Kim Gadd will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
