Daniel Alexander Willis

Daniel Alexander Willis, 57, died July 9, 2023, at his home in Denver, Colorado. A native of Calcutta, Ohio, and former student of Beaver Local, he was the son of Happy and Jane (Ward) Brewer and the adopted son of his maternal grandparents, Albert and Helen (Drane) Ward.

Daniel was many things during his life -- genealogist, reporter, political activist and travel agent -- but will likely be best remembered as an author and publisher. In addition to numerous nonfiction titles about European royal families, he is the author of novels including the Immortals Trilogy, the Victoria II alternative history series, and several short stories.

He is pre-deceased by his parents and two spouses. He is survived by his stepson Mel (Dawn) Koss and granddaughters Arlanna, Jade and Riley of Tennessee; stepson Carey Koss and granddaughter Brooklyn of Alabama; brother Michael Brewer of California; and his extended family in Ohio. His family by choice included Bill Slansky and Karen and Elisabeth Morrissey, all of Denver.

A celebration of his life was held Aug. 9, 2023 in Denver.
