Ronald S. "Sonny" Coleman, 94, of East Liverpool, passed, Friday, July 7, 2023, at his residence.
Born, on January 18, 1929, in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Ernest and Clara Wilkinson Coleman.
Sonny married Amogean Smith Coleman on February 14, 1953. She preceded him in death in October 2005. Sonny was also preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann Coleman, sisters, Ada Wolfe, Joann Holland, and Edna McConnell, and brothers, Charles Coleman, and Clarence Coleman.
He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1948. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a staff sergeant serving during the Korean War. Sonny worked for 40 years working in the electrician union in the Pittsburgh area and Shippingport.
He took pride in his farm, putting in a beautiful lake. Sonny enjoyed spending time on the farm having family picnics and pig roast. He was a member of Riddle Lodge #315 East Liverpool Chapter.
Sonny will be deeply missed by his children, Timothy Coleman and his wife, Tina of East Liverpool, and Nancy Coleman and partner Marta Schrieber of East Liverpool, and grandchildren, Sonny Coleman (Erin Brickner), Nicholas and his wife, Laurel Coleman, Jason Thorn, and Kyle Thorn.
Pastor Lisa Smith will celebrate Sonny's life, Monday, July 10, 2023, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 5:00 PM. Friends may visit Sonny's family 2 hours prior to the service from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM.
