Joann McDevitt, 89, of Chester, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023. Born May 2, 1934, in Chester, she was the daughter of the late George "Virgil" and Helen (Debee) Wycoff.
She was a 1952 graduate of Wells High School and was formerly employed at the former Broomhalls Grocery Store of Newell and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chester.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert McDevitt and a great-grandson Kaiden.
Joann is survived by a daughter, Vicki (Gary) Wedgewood, of Chester, a son, Greg McDevitt, of Chester, four grandchildren, Ed Wedgewood, Deanna (Greg) Bellville, Kaitlyn Crane and Faith McDevitt. four great-grandchildren, Finn, Ty, Addie and Linkyn.
Friends will be received, Tuesday, June 1, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery.
