George Mellinger, 77, of Chester, passed away July 19, 2023.
Born March 25, 1946 in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Maggie (Clark) Mellinger.
He was a retired Security Supervisor for Homer Laughlin China Company. He was also a former Assistant Manager at Kennedy Park Marina.
He was preceded in death by a son Scott Mellinger; a grandson, Gary Long Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine (Gillespie) Mellinger of Chester, a daughter, Tonya (Gary) Long of New Cumberland; a son, Shaun (Jill) Mellinger of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Shayley (Mark) Pasquarelli, Jordan (Hugh) Tate, Connor Mellinger, Cameron Mellinger and Cooper Mellinger; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Eileen) Mellinger of Calcutta and Mervin (Wanda) Mellinger of Rogers; a sister, Lela Barton of East Liverpool.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, from 1-3 and 5pm until time of funeral service at 7pm., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV.
