Edward ‘Wayne’ Nichols

1955-2023

Edward “Wayne” Nichols, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 68, after bravely battling an extended illness.

Wayne was born on May 26, 1955, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Leonard Nichols and Peggy Williams Nichols. He graduated from Beaver Local High School, where he laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and determination. Wayne spent his entire life in the area.

Throughout his career, Wayne served as a repairman at Northern Southern Rail Road, dedicating himself to ensuring the smooth operation of the railway system. His commitment and expertise were greatly valued by his colleagues and superiors.

Outside of work, Wayne found joy in playing cards and bowling. He was an active member of Toronto Lanes, where he fostered deep friendships with fellow bowlers, who soon became like family to him.

During his final days, Wayne received exceptional care from Hospice House in Poland, Ohio, which provided comfort and support throughout his extended illness.

Wayne will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Roach Nichols, who he married in 1997. Wayne also leaves behind two sons, Wayne Nichols of East Liverpool, and Shane Nichols of Ravenna, Ohio. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers, Richard Nichols and Leonard Nichols, both residing in East Liverpool, and his dear mother-in-law, Ava Roach of Calcutta, Ohio who held a special place in his heart. Wayne’s fur babies, Buddy and Angel, also held a special place in his heart and provided him with unconditional love.

Per Wayne’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time. However, a celebration of his remarkable life will be planned for a later date, allowing family and friends to come together and honor his memory.

The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists, Martin Chapel in Calcutta, Ohio.

In Wayne’s passing, his family and friends find solace in the memories of his kindness, strength, and unwavering love. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, and a loyal friend. May he rest in eternal peace.
