Born in Yellowcreek Township, Wellsville, Ohio on December 16, 1935 to the late Fred and Ollie Woodrow. Sister of the late Doris Woodrow Brown and the late James L. Woodrow. Esther passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 8, 2023.
In 1948, she became a member of Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church. Esther was a student at Fairview School, 16 School, and 1954 Graduate of Wellsville High School.
After High School, Esther was employed at Central Federal Savings and Loan in Wellsville. One day while she was walking the bank mail to the post office a young man asks her if she needed a ride. That ride lead Esther's courtship and marriage to the late Donald L. Raffa. The marriage took place in Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church on April 20, 1958.
Esther retired from the Austintown School System after 22 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling (nearly all USA states and British Columbia) and watching Cleveland Baseball.
Esther is survived by daughter, Renee and son, Steven (Barb). Grandson, Michael (Kristen) their daughter, Joelle Lynn; Granddaughter, Ashley (Chris) and their daughter, Ashley Olivia; Granddaughter, Megan (Joe) and their children Angelo and Frankie Marie.
Also, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Jackson Milton Chappel at 439 Salem Warren Road (Roue 45) North Jackson, Ohio. Calling hours will be 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Contact the funeral home at 330-792-2353.
