Dennis Gallagher, 80, of Newell, WV passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 after a long, hard fight with a lingering illness. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara of 44 years and his granddaughter Kristen.
Dennis retired from Boilermaker Local #154 in 2001. He remained active with the retirees for several years serving as secretary. During his retirement he was an AARP volunteer for income taxes. Dennis was also active in the Newell Coalition.
Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends. Dennis is survived by his three children and their spouses Jimmy and Michelle, Tim and Carol, Lisa and Ed Kerrigan and those who called him Gramps – Parker, Jenna, Katie and Mason. Dennis will be greatly missed by many including his sister Eileen, his 'other' daughter Robin, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Newell chapel of Nixon Funeral Home 614 Washington Street, Newell on Saturday, June 3 from 4-7pm. A memorial service will be held at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ where he will be laid to rest.
