Carolyn Elizabeth (Wynn) Deering, 73, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023.
She was born in East Liverpool, OH on October 23, 1949, the daughter of the late Jay and Geraldine (Birch) Wynn.
She was a 1967 graduate of East Liverpool High School, attended Robert Morris College, and later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management from Brenau University. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ronald Deering, and two sons: Craig Deering and his wife Missy, of East Liverpool, OH, and Brent Deering and his wife Cindy, of Athens, AL, as well as three grandchildren, Andrew, Austin and Caitlin. She is also survived by three brothers: Francis Wynn and his wife Christine of Chester, WV, David Wynn and his wife Mary, and Dale Wynn and his wife Debbie, both of East Liverpool, OH.
Carolyn accompanied her husband throughout 27 years of naval service, being instrumental in numerous support functions including active involvement in the submarine Dolphin Scholarship program and providing valuable services to spouses of deployed submariners.
Carolyn enjoyed many activities, such as events with the Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta where she served as the club's ambassador to the National Corvette Museum. She also enjoyed knitting and was actively involved with the North Georgia Knitting Guild as well as the Castoffs knitting group.
Services will be held Saturday, June 24th 2023, at Longs Run Trinity Presbyterian Church with Elder Tom Enochs of the church officiating. Family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10 AM up until the time of service at 11 AM. Burial will take place in Columbiana County Memorial Park, East Liverpool, OH.
