EAST LIVERPOOL -- Larry Edward DeLong, 78, of East Liverpool, passed away April 7, 2023.
Born March 14, 1945 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dean and Lillie (Kumer) DeLong.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Bowen and two brothers, Dean DeLong Jr and Earl DeLong.
He retired from the Dept. of U.S. Navy and Homer Laughlin China Company. He graduated in 1963 Beaver Local High School.
He was a member of the Boyce Church and he served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Lay Minister, he was an avid booster of his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survived by his wife, Lynn (McGaffic) DeLong of East Liverpool. A son, Larry (Caty) DeLong of East Liverpool; a daughter, Sara (Erik) Doerr of Steubenville; six grandchildren, Madelyn (Darien), Abigail, Lucas, Emma, Sophia and Samuel; and a sister, Nellie Mae George of East Liverpool.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6pm, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV. Military services will be conducted by the Chester American Legion and the VFW Post 9452 Honor Guard.
