Dr. Dwight Curtis Snowden of Canal Winchester, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was 64 years old.
Dwight was born July 3, 1958, in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late Frederick A. and C. Elaine (Cooper) Snowden. He was raised there and graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1976.
On Valentine's Day, 1981, he married the love of his life, Theresa Elliott. The couple enjoyed 42 wonderful years of marriage together. They moved to Canal Winchester in 1994 and raised their family there.
A life-long learner, Dwight earned multiple degrees, including from Kent State University (1982), Geneva College (1994), Franklin University (2002), and a Doctorate from the University of Phoenix (2011). Dwight was proudly employed by American Electric Power (AEP) for 40 years.
Dwight was also an accomplished musician. He dedicated 47 years of service to the Lord through his music, serving as a choir director and pianist at multiple churches.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Theresa. His children Barbara (Andrew) Ling of Ashville and Joseph (Nicole) Snowden of Gahanna. Grandchildren Noah and Cooper Ling and William and Alexander Snowden. Brother Kevin (Lynn) Snowden of Friendswood, Texas. Twin sister Deborah (Greg) Ackerman of Hilliard. Sister Lori (Wayne Kittle) Snowden of Gahanna. Half-sister Elizabeth Taylor of Cincinnati. And numerous other family members.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, April 7, at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 8, with half an hour visitation at 10:30 a.m., at Hope United Methodist Church in Canal Winchester. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
