Steve Douglas Clark passed away on March 25th, 2023, at home after kicking cancers ass as long as he could. Steve left this world a fighting man surrounded by his loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Steve was born in East Liverpool on October 11, 1955. The son of Marilyn Rae Bigelow and Keith Leslie Clark. A 1973 graduate of East Liverpool where he followed his brother Joe Clark onto the wrestling mat. The Clark brothers were a force to be reckoned with. Steve won numerous awards on the mat including most pins his senior year. Mike, being the youngest of the brothers followed in his brothers footsteps later. Steve was proud of his nephews following in the family tradition of wrestlers. Joe and Josh Coil followed by Sam Lowe. What he was most proud of is his granddaughter Kayla Maslonka who placed 5th this year at The Girls State Wrestling Tournament in Kentucky. Steve did not pass up an opportunity to brag about this accomplishment to everyone who came to see him this past month.
Steve worked for Al Greene for one year out of high school until the age of 19 when he decided to try his luck in Ft. Pierce Florida where he worked for Coke and Budweiser. In 1990 Steve decided to move to the place he would call home for most of his life, Biloxi, Mississippi. He worked many jobs there including Miller Lite Brewery, Tindall Corp, Zachary Welding, but lastly as a school bus driver for Harrison County which was his favorite job seeing the kids every day.
Steve was not a perfect man by any means but what he did like to do is make people laugh. Steve lived life to the fullest every day ready for the next adventure. You could catch Steve out drinking beer on a warm summer night carrying the night away with friends. He was a lover of the ocean and fishing, something he inherited from his mom. Steve loved spending time out on the boat he nicknamed The Party Barge and riding his motorcycle. Belonging to the The Church of Chapel of Faith Mississippi in which members stayed in contact sending Steve prayers and words of encouragement. Something the family will forever be grateful for.
Given a year to live Steve decided to move back home to the first place he called home, East Liverpool, Ohio. As the cancer progressed the doctors gave Steve 2 weeks to live and Steve being Steve decided this was not good enough and held on for 4. Steve was looking forward to meeting the newest member of the family, Sawyer DeLacey Coil asking every day if the baby had come yet, but sadly Steve departed this world 6 hours before his arrival. Steve made a bigger impact on many people's lives than he could ever imagine. Steve only met a stranger once and after that he called you friend.
Left to carry on Steve's legacy are his daughter Shaina Clark Maslonka (Joseph), Brothers Joe Clark, Mike Clark (Carol Mason), Sisters Sonya Lowe (Dave), and Michelle Coil (Gary). Granddaughters Kayla and Emma Maslonka. Nieces and Nephews Sam Lowe, Heather Schueller (John), Markie Grey (Ron), Joe, Josh (Megan), Jessica and Erica Coil.
Steve was preceded in death by his sister Kimberly Rae Clark, parents Marilyn Rae Bigelow and Keith Clark. Grandparents Hilda and Raymond Bigelow and Laura Ruth and Charles Clark. There will be no funeral. A big picnic is being planned and will be forthcoming for friends and family to come and share the good times we all had with him.
