Shirley Ann Wilson Richards

CHESTER -- Shirley Ann Wilson Richards, 85, of Chester, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born, July 16, 1937, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Davis) Yost. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Wilson, her second husband, Sam Richards, and her grandson Jackson Wilson.

She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School, Class of 1955. Shirley worked for many years as a teacher's aide for Hancock County Schools, working at Allison Elementary, Oak Glen High School, and New Manchester Elementary. After retiring, she and her husband Sam enjoyed traveling together.

Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester. Some of the greatest joys of her life were being active in the choir and other Church activities as her health permitted.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her son, David Wilson, and his wife, Janice of Chester; her daughters, Jill Hanselman and her husband, Frank of North Carolina, and Sara Gott of Georgia; her stepson, Greg Richards and his partner, Lisa Anderson of Bloomingdale, Ohio; grandchildren Nicole Hanselman Morgan of North Carolina, and Emily Wilson of Chester; and great-grandson, Colby Morgan.

Pastor Bob Macek will celebrate Shirley's life, Monday, December 19, 2022, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with her family, Sunday, December 18, 2022, at the funeral home from noon-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
