Annetta 'Ann' Saling
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Annetta "Ann" Saling, 87 of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away on December 6, 2022 from a recent illness.
Ann (better known as Mom, Grandma, and Gram) was born on January 14, 1935 to the late Ernest and Mary McClung at home in West Virginia.
Ann could be described as independent, strong, stubborn, selfless, caring but mostly the Mom and Grandma everyone wanted to have and or be. She had a joyful presence that could light up any room. She loved her family immensely and always showed it. She remembered birthdays and always made holidays special. She loved to cook and was known for her cheesy potatoes. She loved reading, bingo, yard sailing, and going to every auction possible.
In 1952 she met Charles (Chuck) Saling and they married in 1953. They went on to have 5 children and then on to fullfill their ultimate role as the best grandparents. They were inseparable until his death in 2012 and are now reunited once more.
Left to treasure her memory are daughters; Joyce Saling of East Liverpool, Sandy Bryson of Youngstown, and Tammy Linkous (Glen) of East Liverpool. Grandchildren; Shelley (Kevin) Langdon, Dorothy Reckner, Dawne Reckner, Mandy (Jay) Corbin, Brandon (Sarah) Saling, Jacob (Kathie) Saling, Shane Saling, Heather (Sam) Braxton, Erika (TJ) Cast, Nicole Linkous, Christopher (Lacey) Saling, Andy Saling, and Jennifer (Jurgen) Praetorious. Many great grandchildren and a couple great great grandchildren. Sisters; Betty Cain and Allie Modesitt. Sister in law; MaryLou Higgins, her auction family and her beloved pets Maddie, Cassie, and Bailey .
She has also reunited in Heaven with her sons; Charles R. Saling and Roger Saling, sisters; Gladys Ruddleston and Verona Board, brothers; Doris McClung, Lloyd McClung, Glen McClung, Basil McClung, and Carl McClung, as well as her parents.
Services will be held at the Nixon Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio.
