Rita Brant, 88, of Chester, was reunited with her husband, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022.
Born Dec. 24, 1933, in Milwood, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Josephine Flesher McDade.
Rita loved growing up in the small town of "Chester" and remained active in her church, community and school. After graduating from Chester High School, she held several jobs; however, Rita's true desire was to marry and start a family. In 1955, she married Robert Brant, and together they raised four children.
Rita was a member of Chester First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending her monthly card clubs, shopping and visiting with family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Crystal Brant and her husband George of Lisbon, Aunica Biela of Sanford, Fla., Letitia Shadden and her husband Theal of Bedford, Texas, and Blair Brant and his wife Faithe of Lincolnton, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brant; grandson, Jonathon Cunningham; brothers, Vernon McDade and Gerald McDade; and sister, Virginia Logue.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Chester First United Methodist Church.
We'll celebrate Rita's life, Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
