Lester Waide, 95, of Newell, passed away Aug. 23, 2022.
Born Nov. 1, 1926 in Newell, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ralph and Jenny (Ash) Waide.
Lester served in the United States Navy. He retired after working 46 years for New Castle Refractories.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff S. Waide, and three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Norma (Beaver) Waide of Newell; a daughter, Nancy (Craig) Boyd of Chester; four grandchildren, Jeff P. Waide, Tim Boyd (Crystal), Jenifer Waide and Rebecca Manko; four great-grandchildren, Garrett, Brittney, Jadyn and Nicholas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Weston and Remi.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26,2022, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va., where funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022.
Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, W.Va.
