WELLSVILLE -- On May 24, 2022, surrounded by his family, Wayne L. Finn, 87, of Wellsville, was set free of his sickly body and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus.
He was born November 6, 1934, in Bergholz, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Mary (Long) Finn. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death on December 12, 2006, by his wife, Loretta (Madison) Finn, whom he married October 15, 1966. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne (Tolson) Finn; one daughter, Amy Finn; one grandson, Marcus Walter; five sisters: Dolly Dixon, Betty Leek, Patricia Starn, Darla Finn, and Mary Dulkoski; three brothers: Harry, Edgar, and Gary Finn; and one bonus grandson, Noah Long.
Wayne graduated from Springfield Local High School in Bergholz, and he served in the United States Army from 1957 – 1959. He had previously been employed at the former Crucible Steel Mill and Summitville Tile Company. Wayne was a member of the Wellsville First Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters: Jennifer Finn of Wellsville and Kristen (Dwayne) Walter of Summitville; one son, Jeff (Angela) Finn of Kent, OH; three sisters: June Berrichie, Joyce Valenzuela, and Ellen Finn; and two brothers: David and William Finn. Also surviving are two granddaughters: Marissa (Scott) Brown and Keeleigh Finn; and one great-granddaughter, Elena Kurtz Cogar. Also left behind to cherish Wayne's memory are several bonus sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street in Wellsville, with Pastor Mark Blakeley officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Wayne's arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Wayne's name to the Marcus Walter Memorial Scholarship c/o Renee May, 35284 Hull Road, Salineville, OH 43945.
