Frederick ("Fred") Allen Lisle, 75, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022, with his wife and children lovingly by his side.
Fred was born to Gordon Lisle and Iris (Underwood) Lisle, and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio, where he grew up working in his family's real estate business. It was there that he developed a strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his life.
After graduating from East Liverpool High School in 1964, Fred attended Kent State University before starting his own business. As a serial entrepreneur, Fred founded and operated a number of successful enterprises. His first venture as a young man was as an ice cream purveyor, known as "Dairy Dan," which he operated with his wife, Nancy. The popular business brought smiles and joy to many customers. Fred went on to subsequently own and operate The Midway Diner, East End Truck Service, a convenient store and fuel station, a commercial fastener business, LCT Enterprises, Inc. and Fred Lisle Trucking. His creativity and inventiveness, innate mechanical abilities and a knack for being able to repair most anything always amazed his family, friends and colleagues. Fred remained active in his business pursuits throughout his recent illness.
Fred and his childhood sweetheart, Nancy, first met in kindergarten. They married in 1965, and spent over 56 loving and devoted years together as husband and wife. It is rumored that Fred relentlessly wooed Nancy as a teenager, eventually charming her and winning her heart. If ever there were two soulmates, Fred and Nancy were the epitome of that term. They went on to raise three children, whom they adored, along with their respective spouses and grandchildren. Above all of his accomplishments, Fred was proudest of his family and their strong bonds of love and dedication to one another. He was keenly interested in their lives and pursuits, always taking the time to listen, offer thoughtful advice and to help in any way possible. In his later years, Fred enjoyed the company of his "grand dogs" and restoring his historic automobile.
Those who knew Fred recognized and benefitted from his kindness, love, laughter and wisdom. He was the quintessential devoted family man, patriarch and friend, who cared deeply for those whom he knew and loved. He was a man of Christian faith, and is survived by his adoring wife Nancy, his children Monica (Donna), Shantelle (Richard) and Shawn (Wendy), grandchildren Addison, Hayden, Connor, Noah, Grace, Adam and Olivia, his brother Ralph Wilson, Sr., sisters Rose (Lisle) Whitney and Mary Kay (Lisle) Campbell, brother-in law Rex Campbell and sisters-in law Kathryn Wilson, Joyce Wilson and Violet Lisle. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Stanley Wilson, Sayre Wilson and Gordon Richard ("Dick") Lisle, sister-in-law Carol Wilson and brother-in-law George Whitney. He will forever be in our hearts and missed very much.
Fred battled his illness with grace, bravery and strength. His family extends their gratitude to the attentive and talented doctors, nurses, aides and staff at Compassionate Care Hospice, Moffitt Cancer Center and AdventHealth. A private celebration of Fred's life is planned for later this spring.
