Charles C. Angle

CHESTER -- Charles C. Angle, 82, of Chester, passed Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Select Medical Hospital in Weirton.

Born May 2, 1939, in Chester, he was a son of the late Harold Angle and Mary Mumaw Angle Dudgeon.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Angle; son-in-law, Doug Smith; uncle, Clarence Mumaw; and sister, Sandy Caughey.

Charles attended Chester High School and he was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He dedicated 41 years working at Metsch Refractories in Chester as a machinist.

Charles was a member of the American Legion Post #121 in Chester. He was artistic and especially enjoyed wood carving and drawing. He also enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. He was always working on a project and would be the first person to lend a helping hand. Charles adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Joyce Haught Angle, whom he married June 22, 1962; daughter, Julie Smith of New Cumberland; son, Jason Angle and his wife Amy, of Weirton; brother, Derrell Angle of Wellsville; sisters, Carol Butler and her husband Charles of Chester, Suzanne Wright and her husband Del of Chester, Sherry Michael, Sharon Kidder, and Shirley Angle. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Luke Smith, Annalynn Angle, and Thomas Angle.

We will celebrate Charles's life Monday, March 14, 2022, at Arner Funeral Chapel, at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM. The family requests those attending please wear a mask.
