-- Deputies checked a state Route 517, Center Township, home at 6:41 a.m. Thursday after a woman reported hearing a loud rumble in an upper bedroom when she was the only person home. After checking the residence, deputies determined the noise was caused by ice falling off the outside of the home.

Wellsville

--An employee of American Electric Power reported at 9:04 a.m. Feb. 1, he went to the substation to do some work and discovered a copper-clad steel wire had been cut off of some spots from the station and someone had cut a hole in the fence behind the station. About 50 feet of wire was estimated to have been cut.

-- A Commerce Street woman reported at 12:57 p.m. Monday she found money missing from her Social Security account when she checked her balance. She had nearly $900 that should have been there, but the account had only $210 left. Her bank account was frozen and she was going to be issued a new card.

-- A man was reported making a scene at Pizza Hut on Feb. 2. He reportedly jumped back into his truck and was sitting there. When police arrived he was found asleep with his head on the steering wheel. The man was identified and said he lives in Weirton and was bringing one of his friends a heater. He was checked for weapons and found to have what appeared to be a crack pipe, pills and THC. A silver container was found in the truck that appeared to have white powder and a razor blade inside. The evidence was sent to BCI and charges are pending the results.

-- A man reported on Feb. 2 someone was using his bank account and he received an email on Jan. 30 alerting him about a transaction involving mining equipment in Houston, Texas, which reportedly came from a PayPal account linked to his bank account. The man said he does not have a PayPal account, nor did he order equipment.
