Jessie E. Broadbent, 83, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, January 7, 2020, at East Liverpool City Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born July 27, 1938 in East Liverpool, OH, the daughter of the late John Robert "Bob" and Sara Ruth (Bowen) Haney.
In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death on January 19, 1996, by her husband, Kenneth E. Broadbent, whom she married October 31, 1959. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Lovejoy.
Jessie graduated from East Liverpool City School in 1956. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She had worked at various jobs in the area including, the Review, Ross Nursing Home and E.L.C.H. before moving to Florida and retiring in 2005 from the Manatee School System. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, playing Bingo and of course, always cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Jessie is survived by her two daughters, Kim Anderson, Deb (Terry) McCartney and one son,, Bruce Broadbent, grandchildren, Mark (Robin) Brookes, Thomas Michael "Mike" Lynch, Jenny (Howie) Russell and John "Arthur "Art" McCartney and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Alannah, and Mattias (Brookes) Dylan and Colin (Russell) and Thomas Michael "TJ" Lynch; a sister, Phylis (Alan) Boone; a and a brother, John (Diane) Haney.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a further date to honor and remember our Mother. The Nixon Funeral Home of Newell handled the arrangements.
