CHESTER -- Gladys Walker, 87, of Chester, WV, passed away January 7, 2022, at Stone Pear Pavilion.
Born in Bentree, WV on May 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Dana (Mullins) Adkins.
Gladys was self-employed for 32 years as an Avon Representative. She was a member of the North Side Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rex Walker; three sisters, Leona Adkins, Pearl Walker and Lucille Thomas and two brothers, Wilbert and Albert Adkins.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Terry (Robin) Walker of Chester; three grandchildren, Carla (Michael) Wodnicki, Kearsten (Darren) Hall and Clarissa Walker (Mike Dagan); seven great-grandchildren, Michaela, Olivia Robin, Alexandra, Kami Lea, Rylee Andrew, Hannah; and Chloee; two brothers, Gilbert (Carol) Adkins of Ohio and Eddie Adkins of Ohio; and a sister, Linda (Kellis) Osborne of WV.
Visitation is Tuesday, January 11, from 5 – 7 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Pastor Larry Rose officiating. Interment will be held at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
