WELLSVILLE -- Robert James Jackman, 89, of Hillcrest Road died Monday, December 13, 2021 at 5:50 p.m. at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born February 9, 1932 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert A. and Pauline Chaffee Jackman. A lifetime area resident, Bob retired as a roller from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania in 1982 after more than 33 years of service.
A graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1950, Bob was the captain of the first high school wrestling team. He was inducted into the East Liverpool High School Hall of Fame for establishing the school's first pin. After high school, he was proud to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War. For twenty years Bob was the pastor of the Apostle & Prophet Ministry in Glenmoor where he preached the gospel of Christ. Brother Bob's calling was to lead people to salvation and he worked hard in that effort. He loved the Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Carson Jackman, whom he married August 24, 1957, at home. There are two daughters, Denise G. Resanovich of Wellsville, Ohio and Jill P. Holler and her husband, Darin of East Liverpool; and one son, Steve R. Jackman and his wife, Angie of Topeka, Kansas.
In addition, he also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy C. Kelly-Boyd and her husband, Ron of East Liverpool.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Dean Jackman in 2016.
Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Pastor Ron Boyd of the Church of Jesus Christ will officiate a funeral service at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
