NEW CUMBERLAND -- Hansell Stanley Miller, 88, of New Cumberland, passed, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Brightwood Rehabilitation Center in Follansbee following a brief illness.
Born, December 9, 1933, in Reader, W. Va., he was the son of the late George and Lula Keck Miller.
Stanley was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Miller, his son, Gary, his grandson, Josh Ledsome; stepson, John Williams, brothers, Russell, Ransell, Doyle, Richard, Leeland, Arthur (Buddy), and Dormond Miller, and Dorsey Miler; Sisters, Audra Swearingen, Aunda Lancaster, and Iva Wayts.
He retired from the former Weirton Steel Corporation, where he worked 31 years as an electrician. Stanley was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-year club.
He enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, baking, hunting, and cooking for his family.
Stanley will be deeply missed by his sons, David (Erica) Miller of New Cumberland, Donald (Cathy) Miller of El Cajon, GA. and Timothy McMillan of Tijeras, NM.; daughter, Sherry Ortiz of Virginia Beach and Kathy (Scott) Mahone of Norfolk, VA.; stepchildren Shirley (Jim) Adams of Ellijay, GA. and Betty (Jim) McCall of Chester.; sister, Joann Nolan of Parkersburg, WV. and loving girlfriend Linda Yeater; He will also be missed by his 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
We will celebrate Stanley's life Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Arner Funeral Chapel, at 11 a.m. Private burial will be held at Churchill Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with his family, Sunday, at the funeral home, from noon – 2 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m.
