NEW CUMBERLAND -- Curtis G. Stanley, 93, of New Cumberland passed Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born, April 22, 1928, in Ravenswood, W.Va., he was the son of the late Perry and Essie Radar Stanley.
Curt was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor L. Stanley. The youngest of 10 children, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Curt was a graduate of New Cumberland High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Curt later retired after 36 years from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked in the electrical department as a general foreman.
A strong, powerful man, Curt was a man of hard work and integrity. He enjoyed his home as well as vacationing in Florida. A passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching a game with him was at times an intense experience. Most of all, Curt loved and enjoyed his family.
He will be deeply missed by his children Perry (Lynne), Joy Crago, Curt (Joann); grandchildren Mykal (David), Dawn, Courtney, Alana, and Zachary(Dee); and great-grandchildren Eleanor, Gabriel, and Isaac; as well as his surviving sister Effie Pesta, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Per Curt's wishes, no services are planned; his arrangements were entrusted with the Arner Funeral Chapel.
