EAST LIVERPOOL -- Ruth Caroline Hogue, 92, of East Liverpool, Ohio passed away at home of natural causes the morning of Sunday, November 21, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Born July 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Zimmerman) Eddy. She lived in the area her entire life. She married the love of her life George Hogue on November 9, 1958, and they spent 46 years together until his passing on December 25, 2004. She was also an active member of the First Church of Christ Disciples in East Liverpool.
Ruth enjoyed many activities, but her favorite hobby was crocheting, which she had done her entire life.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn (John) Johnston, of Knoxville, TN, Brenda (Jim) Booher, of Leetonia, OH, and Judy (Mike Six) Moore, of Chester, WV. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Corey (Mandi) Pethtel, Kelly Johnston, Jami (Thad) Booher, Sean (Teresita) Booher, Kaylee Moore, and Sarah Moore, and eight great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband George, her son Charles Simms, and her sisters Eleanor Bryarley, Martha Shelton, and Alice Burris.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 12:30 – 1:30 at the Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists- Martin Chapel in Calcutta. The funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. W. Charles Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
