Larry W. Sparks

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -- Larry W. Sparks, 73, of East Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Larry was born in Logan, West Virginia on January 18, 1948 a son of the late Earl and Faye (Johnson) Sparks. He was a graduate of Chapmanville High School class of 1966. Larry was hard working and was always busy doing something. He worked as a mechanic at Sparks Auto Clinic which he owned and operated since the early 70's. Larry was a master mechanic. He restored vehicles and built many hot rods through the years. Larry was a wonderful and dedicated husband. He was community oriented and did many things to help others. Larry was devoted to his church Emmanuel Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. As a member of the church, he taught Sunday School and started the food pantry. He was a member of the Calcutta Lions Club where he was named Lion of the Year several times. Larry was an avid golfer. He was also an avid pet lover and provided care and attention to many animals.

Preceding Larry in death was his sister-in-law Joyce Adkins.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, whom he married September 23, 1966, Lynda (Sellards) Sparks; brother Phillip Sparks and his wife Barbara of Charleston, WV; two sisters Anna Chambers and her husband Paul of Williamstown, WV, and Sherry Gore and her husband David of Chapmanville, WV; and sister-in-law Rita Hayner of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on Friday where the family will be present from 3 to 7 p.m. Pastor Margie Zellars of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will conduct a service on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
