NEWELL -- Johnny Monroe, 66, of Newell, passed away November 13, 2021.
Born February 7, 1955 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of John J. Monroe of Newell and the late Donna (Tice) Monroe.
Johnny graduated from Oak Glen High School. He was a retired glaze maker for Homer Laughlin China Company. He was a member of the Glendale Church of the Nazarene and a Board Member of the Church. He was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, WVU Sports and Minnesota Vikings.
Surviving are two daughters, Jessica Monroe of Newell and Jennifer (Matthew) Welker of Ohio; five grandchildren, Alexis (Joseph) Stanley, Austin Graham, Justin Graham Jr.,Bricesyn Summers and Rylan Welker; two great-grandchildren, Lashayla and Jordan; two sisters, Marilyn (Stan) Franczek of Newell and Kelly (Mark) Six of New Manchester; three brothers, Randy (Connie) Monroe of Chester, Jeff Monroe (Darlene) of Chester and Larry Monroe of Pennsylvania; also by the mother of his daughters, Kathi Monroe.
Visitation is Wednesday, November 17, from 5-7p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
