John Hopper

EAST LIVERPOOL -- John Hopper, 64, of East Liverpool, died in his sleep November 13, 2021 after a severe cardiac event.

For nearly a decade, John lived in Old Brooklyn, Cleveland, where he was known for being a social neighbor always working on a new project. He was kind to his neighbors and friends, and frequently helped them when they were in need. Before moving to Cleveland, John called East Liverpool home. He operated laundromats in East Liverpool and Wellsville for years. John enjoyed "cruising around" in his Jeep, jet skiing on the river, and spending time with family.

John often said the best thing he did in life was be a father, and that he did as best he knew how. His children will remember him as a caring, funny, creative dad who worked hard so they could play and who encouraged them in all their endeavors.

John is survived by his mother, Betty, and sister, Diana, both of Phoenix, Arizona, his two sons, Zachary Hopper of Kansas City, Missouri, and Michael Hopper of Indianapolis, Indiana, and his grandchildren, Cormac and Maeve.
