CHESTER -- Lloyd "Herk" Peters, 87, of Chester, formerly of Newell passed away on October 18, 2021, at City Hospital from COVID. He was born on June 15, 1934 in Newell to the late Harold and Carrie (Baker) Peters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Clara Morgan, Darlene Peters and Elmer Peters. He leaves behind two brothers, Edwin (Jean) of Glenmoor and Richard (late Kathy) of N. Versailles, Pa, plus numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom he watched over the years. He did enjoy each one of them. Herk loved all Oak Glen sports and attended most games, whether near or far, as part of the White hats. He never liked to miss a game! Since never driving, he always looked forward to being picked up daily by his friend, Glenda, for their morning breakfasts at Connie's.
Visitation is Thursday, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell,WV, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021.
Interment will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester, WV.
