FT MYERS, FL. -- Alfreda Rita Barbaree, 101, of Ft Myers, Florida, formerly of East Liverpool, died October 3, 2021 at Barrington Terrace Assisted Living . She was born April 10, 1920 in Camden,NJ, the daughter of Maryanna Kulczynski and Joseph Mroz. Alfreda served in the US Navy WAVES during World War II where she met her husband George who was serving in the Marines,, After the war, they married on August 24, 1946. While raising their children, Alfreda worked as a part-time administrative assistant for the City of Camden. After relocating to Ohio, she volunteered at East Liverpool City Hospital and was a member of the Beaver Creek Ladies Golf Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leonard and Stanley Mroz, and her beloved husband George of 74 years. Survivors include son Ronald (Rose) Barbaree of Perrineville, NJ, daughters Susan (Phil) Hirsch of Girard, OH and Joyce (Michael) Aubele of Ft Myers, FL, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held in Ft Myers, FL with full military honors and internment to follow in the church memorial gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alfreda's memory may be made to Hope Hospice Development Department, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft Myers, FL 33908.
