EAST LIVERPOOL -- Thomas A. Walker, III, 91 of East Liverpool, passed away Friday evening, September 3, 2021, at Calcutta Health Care Center following a brief illness. He was 91.
Born in East Liverpool, April 5, 1930, a son of the late Thomas A. Walker, Jr. and Iris Montrose "Monte" Dray Walker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the East Liverpool Police Department from 1956 to 1962 where he was a lieutenant at the time of his retirement. He then worked at the former Crucible Steel Company until 1982 and later worked as a security guard at power plant.
A life member of the American Legion Post 374, he was an active member of the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group for many years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 122.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Leonda Walker, at home. He is also survived by his children: Karen Zehnder, and her husband Jeff, of East Liverpool, Annette Null of Columbus, Ohio, Barbara Ward of East Liverpool, Mary Deem, and her husband Jerry, of East Liverpool, Michele Guildoo, and her husband Dave, of East Liverpool, and Thomas "Tim" Walker, and his wife Bea, of East Liverpool. There are 10 grandchildren: Katie Bussard, Emily Walker, Jake Null, Zack Null, Louie Ward, Jordan Norton, Nikki Deem, Jessica Deem, Sarah Guildoo and Anna Guildoo, as well as five great-grandchildren: Jaxon Watkins, Jhett Watkins, Karter Cunningham, Isabella Bussard, and Nicholas Bussard.
A sister survives as well, JoAnn Wood of South Carolina, along with three step-children: Howard Reynolds and his wife, Denise, Miles Reynolds and Tim Reynolds, all of East Liverpool.
Private family services were conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
