Richard Keith ‘Dick’ Wolf

EAST LIVERPOOL — Richard Keith “Dick” Wolf, 88, of May Street passed away Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at 5:07 p.m. at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born October 23, 1932 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert and Ada Rice Wolf. A lifetime area resident, Dick was retired from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pennsylvania in 1982 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Dick was a former member of the East Liverpool Board of Education serving for 37 years. He was an active member of the OVAC, was a founding member of the ELHS Potter Hall of Fame, supported Potter wrestling, founded the Matt Salsberry Memorial Scholarship, was instrumental in the foundation of the East Liverpool Pony League, created every East Liverpool Welcome Sign along with the Potter sports schedules that went along with the signs, was a founding member of the Pottery Festival Run and was an avid Potter sports fan holding season tickets for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Landfried Wolf, whom he married January 12, 1968, at home. There are six daughters, Fran Carpenter and her husband, Donn of South Lebanon, Ohio, Joan Juszczak and her husband, John of East Liverpool, Ohio, Lisa Cunningham and her husband, Ron of East Liverpool, Ohio, Monica Baugh and her husband, Jim of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Kerrianne Wolf of Columbus, Ohio and Erika Ferraco and her husband, Michael of Matthews, North Carolina; and two sons, Philip Hoschar and his wife, Linda of Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Rick Hoschar and his wife, Ann of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

In addition he leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, Aaron Hoschar, Elaine Smiley, Alex Scott, Lee Alverson, Lauren Webster, Emmy Richardson, Matthew Hoschar, Beth Hoschar, Emily Hoschar, Andrew Juszczak, Christopher Juszczak, Jacob Cunningham, Allie Leidner, Ben Cunningham, James Baugh, Kyle Baugh, Aspen Ferraco and Zachary Ferraco; and fifteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn Chamberlain of Hartville, Ohio.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Wolf; one son, James Joseph Hoschar and one great-granddaughter, Cori Webster.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio. Raymond Sullivan, nephew of Mr. Wolf will officiate a service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

The Tri-State Area Veterans will accord full military honors.

The family requests contributions to the ELHS Potters Wrestling Program.
