John Oscar Moncrief Sr., 81, of New Cumberland,WV passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Weirton Medical Center.
He was born October 6,1939 in New Cumberland,WV a son of the late Andrew M. And Ora Alice (Rogers) Moncrief. He is also preceded by his wife Madelyn Lee (Rawson) Moncrief, a brother Andrew M. Moncrief Jr; and 2 sisters Nila Jean Moncrief and Anna Faye Duke.
He was retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a craneman, and was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year Club; he was also a retired Navy veteran.
Surviving are his son John O. Moncrief Jr. of New Cumberland,WV; a sister Nora Belle King of Potter,PA, and 2 grandchildren, Cody Moncrief Inverness of Florida and Shelby Angelo of Harpers Ferry, WV.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Turley Funeral Home.
Services will be there Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newell, WV.
