John Oscar Moncrief, Sr; 81, of New Cumberland,WV passed away Thursday, September 16,2021 at Weirton Medical Center .
He was born October 6,1939 in New Cumberland,WV a son of the late Andrew M. & Ora Alice (Rogers) Moncrief. He is also preceded by his wife Madelyn Lee (Rawson) Moncrief, a brother Andrew M. Moncrief, Jr; 2 sisters Lila Jean Moncrief & Anna Faye Duke; and a brother in law Charles W. Duke.
He is retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a crane man, and was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 year Club; he was also a retired Navy veteran.
Surviving are his son John O. Moncrief, Jr; of New Cumberland, WV; a sister Nora Belle King of Potter Township, PA; 2 Grandchildren Cody Moncrief of Inverness, FL & Shelby Angulo of Harpers Ferry, WV and numerous Loved ones.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Turley Funeral Home.
Services will be there Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens Newell,WV.
