86, of East Liverpool, formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 10, 2021. Born October 2, 1934 in Reform, AL, a son of the late John and Guster Dixon Bird.
He worked steadily throughout the years at various locations including American Bridge, U.S. Steel Duquesne Works, various construction labor jobs and Hall China, where he eventually retired. Andy was blessed to enjoy the remainder of his years doing what he loved; collecting and restoring cars, and watching football games. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he got a kick out of laughing with his son, who loves the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Amos Byrd and his other brother, Willie James Blissett and four sisters; Pearl Burton, Vera Byrd, Betty C. Byrd and Lillie Bell Byrd.
He is survived by his son and best friend, Donald and his wife Anna Byrd, East Liverpool, two daughters and sons-in-law; Ronail and Glenn Collins, Rochester, PA and Tonya and Wayne Bradley, New Brighton, PA, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received Saturday from 5 p.m. until the time of a Homegoing Celebration at 7 p.m. in the D. L. Williams Funeral Home, 848 Midland Ave., Midland, PA.
