Harriet Louise (Lou) Moon, age 95 went home to be with her savior Saturday August 14, 2021 at Valley Hospice Care in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born January 13, 1926 a daughter of the late Bert and Ida Williams and grew up on Indiana Ave in Chester.
Lou graduated from Chester High School and Ohio Valley Business College. She worked at Kobuta during WWII in the accounting department. After the war she married the love of her life and decided to devote her life to raising a family. Lou and her late husband Bill Moon provided a loving home where family and friends always found a warm welcome.
Lou was raised in the First Methodist Church of Chester and grew into a dedicated Christian. She volunteered tirelessly in many capacities at her church from the time she was a teenager. Later Lou and her husband Bill met with shut-ins at area nursing homes and provided hymn singing and spiritual talks for many years.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Moon, a brother Charles Williams, a grandson Richard Moon and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her daughter, Beckie (Matt) Provenzano of Calcutta, OH; son Craig (Nanci) Moon of Bethlehem, WV; and grandson Ryan Provenzano of Calcutta, OH.
Lou is in the care of Arner Funeral Chapels in Chester. A memorial service is being planned in the future.
