EAST LIVERPOOL -- Greg Roof, of Calcutta, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, August 7, 2021, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. He was 53.
Born in Warren, Ohio, October 14, 1967, he was a son of James E. and Donna Roof of Ft. Myers, Florida. A member of the Lordstown High School Class of 1986 where he was a standout pole vaulter. He earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in 1991. Since 1995, Greg had been associated with the Calcutta Health Care Center where he was the administrator. Since he was young, he was a talented barefoot water skier and had a lifelong love for fast cars. He was a proud Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Above all things in life, Greg loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Bobbie Roof, at home. The couple married February 6, 2015. He also leaves his daughter, Makenzie Roof, at home, and two stepsons, Austin Pinkerton, US Marine Corps stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Logan Pinkerton of Conneaut, Ohio. Greg was also blessed with a bonus daughter Kaitlyn Dewitt of Calcutta. He will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Max, a Rottweiler, and Diesel, a Cane Corso.
Family and friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
