EAST LIVERPOOL – Evelyn E. Talbott, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday evening, August 19, 2021, at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She died peacefully with her children by her side.
Born November 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur and Pearl Brown Fickel. A lifetime area resident, she was a retired teacher for East Liverpool City Schools where she taught remedial reading to kindergarten through 4th grade classes. Evelyn served as a pianist for seven years at the 1stChurch of Christ (Disciples). She then served as an organist for a combined 71 years for the following: 1st Church of Christ (Disciples), Midland Presbyterian Church, Chester First Christian Church, and First Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
A graduate of East Liverpool High School, she continued her education at Kent State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education Cum Laude and later earned her Master of Science in Education at the University of Dayton. An avid basketball fan, she especially loved to follow the Cleveland Cavaliers.
She leaves behind two daughters, Teri Marshall and her husband, Wayne, of Wellsville, and Christy Talbott of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, as well as a son, Jeffrey Talbott and his wife, Donna, of Steubenville. She is survived by a sister, Judy Norris and her husband, John, of Canfield, along with six grandchildren: Jami Garrett (Jim), Jennifer Biby (Vern), Shannon Graham (Jason), Bethany Laws (Dave), Brendan Talbott, and Lianna Marshall, and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty J. Vincent and Dorothy Garner and a brother, Robert E. Fickel.
Rev. Jeff Wheeler will celebrate her life at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
