Betty Jane McAtee

Betty Jane McAtee, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away after a lengthy illness on August 12, 2021, at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester.

She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, one of three daughters born to the late James and Mary Hibbits Armour. Betty was employed for over twenty years at the Weirton Medical Center as a med-tech, cleaning and preparing the operating room for the various functions of the day. She was very active throughout her life, enjoying being a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church, her bowling nights with her friends, and of course, keeping up and adoring her grand and great-grandchildren, having unique names for all.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by husband Charles Dean McAtee,sons Stanley E. and Wilbur "Snook" Snider, sisters Helen Rose and Ruth Tillis, and daughter-in-law Marilyn Snider.

She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Donald (Jan), Dirk, and Drew (Teresa) Snider, and Pam (David) Smotzer, great-grandchildren Connor Smotzer, Alex, Katie, Max, Sydney, and Cruz Snider, and daughter-in-law Vicky Snider.

Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Turley Funeral Home 109 North Chester Street New Cumberland.

Additional visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service at the New Cumberland Christian Church.

Pastor Rick Tinski will officiate.

Interment will follow in New Cumberland Cemetery.
