Robert D. Arrowsmith, 90

Together Again

CAMPBELL, Ohio — Robert D. Arrowsmith, 90, of Campbell, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Maple Crest Nursing Home.

Born Nov. 2, 1928 in East Liverpool, he was the son of the late Samuel and Laura Pitts Arrowsmith, and was a lifelong resident of East Liverpool until seven years ago when he moved to Campbell to be with his son Joe and his family.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to1956. Robert retired from Colt Industries Crucible Inc. in Midland, Pa.; he also served as an Electrician for the steel company. He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church; the Eagles and the VFW. Robert was an avid reader, outdoorsman and loved animals. He contributed often to organizations that protected wildlife and a sustainable environment.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Lucy Arrowsmith, whom he married on May 19, 1956, passed away on July 20, 2011. Also preceding him were brothers, Len and Syd Arrowsmith; and sisters, Irene Arrowsmith and Nellie Duncan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Mirta Arrowsmith of Campbell; one grandson, Matthew P. Arrowsmith of Columbus; and one granddaughter, Samantha E. Arrowsmith of Cleveland.

The family would like to send a special “Thank You” to the kind and caring staff at Maple Crest Nursing Home, who were his second family for the last four years.

The Arrowsmith family has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends on Saturday morning, April 27, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Wasko Funeral Home, with Deacon John Rentas officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Grove Cemetery in East Liverpool.
