HANOVERTON – Gerald Marvin “Jerry” Richards, 70, of Hanoverton, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Harrisville, W.Va., the son of the late Floyd M. and Mabel (Elder) Richards.
Jerry graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had previously been employed as an electrician for Bruce Mansfield Power Plant. Jerry was a member of the Guilford Lake Ruritan Club and enjoyed bowling in his league. He was a member of Winona Friends Church.
Survivors include his wife, Teena (Davis) Richards, whom he married Feb. 14, 1983; one daughter, Jennifer Headley and her husband, James, of Salem; two sons: Kirk Richards and his wife, Lisa, of Horton, Mich., and Brian Richards and his wife, Aimee, of Canton; and three sisters: Saundra Hardy and her husband, Kendall, of Atlanta, Ga., Julie Richards of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Kelly Meadows of North Carolina. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Ryan, Ashley, Courtney, Taylor, Kaitlyn, and Gerald.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Roberts Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery where the Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors.
