Sloan selected as SLHS Student of the Month

SALINEVILLE — Bradley Sloan has been selected as the Salineville Kiwanis Student of the Month for September at Southern Local High School.

Sloan, the son of Rich and Christy Sloan of Wellsville, is a standout both in academics and athletics. He has been named to the honor roll and as an academic athlete through his junior year and participated in an array of sports. Sloan is a four-year letterman and captain of the football team, where he has also been named First Team Quad County for two years; First Team OVAC during his junior year; Second Team OVAC during his freshman and sophomore years; First Team EOAC for two years; First Team Columbiana County for two years; and honorable mention in the North East Inland District for two years. Additionally, he earned special mentions for Quad County and OVAC and was a state qualifier in the long jump in track and field. He also holds the school record for the long jump and 100-meter dash.

Sloan currently attends the New Castle School of Trades in East Liverpool and studies industrial maintenance and has also worked for Craig’s Lawn Service and J&J Tire. He hopes to attend either the U.S. Military Academy at West Point or the U.S. Air Force.
