Even though the unusual end to the 2019-20 school year prevented North Elementary students from competing in our annual Math 24 Tournament, they were still able to compete through Google Classroom. The Math 24 game was used to schedule a Daily Five. The students earned points based on each card and the time they submitted their solutions. “Beyond strengthening procedural fluency, the Math 24 Game expands strategic thinking and adaptive reasoning abilities, laying the groundwork for higher-order skills such as Computational Thinking!” Donovan Shallcross and Braydan Schwerha both earned first place in the Math 24 competition. They battled each day to be the first to submit their solutions. They both deserved the title of Champion when the competition ended in a tie. Evan Dorn also had a high score and earned third place. It was exciting to see who would be the first to submit their solutions. (Submitted photo)
