LISBON -- Mat Ward is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center's March Student of the Month. Mat is a half-day CCCTC Senior from Beaver Local High School and is enrolled in the Construction Technology Program under the instruction of Mr. Chance Bricker. Mat is a member of the Beaver Local wrestling team and is a member of the CTSO SkillsUSA program. Mat's future plans are to work in the laborer's union in Steubenville or Pittsburgh. Mat is currently enrolled in the Work-Based Learning program at the CCCTC working at Sanford Plumbing. Mat has earned industry credentials in First Aid/CPR, OSHA-10, and NCCER-Core for the Construction Technology field. Mat feels the CCCTC was a great choice for him because it gave him a chance to further his education and skills in the construction field stating "the CCCTC offered me opportunities to be hands-on in my trade through my lab experience and work-based learning. The networking opportunities I have had through the CCCTC will positively impact my career choices and future."
Mat was nominated by Mr. Bricker stating, "Mat is a hard-working student who understands the value of setting goals and the process of achieving his goals. Mat is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when you value learning and work hard."
Mat is the son of Tammy and Shawn Ward.
