OGHS Lion Club Scholar of the Month

2 min read

CHESTER, W. Va. -- My name is Peyton Hall, I am 18 years old and I go to Oak Glen High School. I am a senior this year and so far, this year has flown by. I live in Chester, W.Va. with my parents Treena and James Hall.

In my four years at Oak Gen I have had a lot of success and have made lifelong friends along the way. I have been a part of the Oak Glen wrestling team all four years and this year I became the first four-time state champion in school history. Some other things that I have accomplished are 3-time OVAC champion, 2-Time National champion and I set the school pin and win record.

I started the recruiting process for college my sophomore year and I received a lot of letters. I wasn't legally allowed to receive calls or scholarship offers from college coaches until certain date after my sophomore year, so I didn't commit anywhere. After my sophomore year Tim Flynn called me and set up a visit. He is the WVU head wrestling coach, so I was really excited. After my visit I knew that West Virginia is the place that will help me achieve my athletic and academic goals. I am now committed to West Virginia University. I have not chosen my major yet, however I am thinking about going into some sort of Cyber Security.
