2 min read

HAMMONDSVILLE -- Preschool and kindergarten registration dates are set in the Edison Local School District for the 2020-21 term.

Registration will be held from 1-6 p.m. March 17 at John Gregg Elementary and 1-6 p.m. March 18 at Stanton Elementary. Parents and guardians must go to the building their child will attend to register them in the Step Up to Quality 5-Star Award Early Childhood program. Students will have access to computers, a library, music, early literacy, physical education, iPad learning and free breakfast for preschoolers.

Fatima Smuck, district early childhood director, said space is limited for enrollment. Parents are advised to bring the child's birth certificate (birth records are not acceptable); immunization record; proof of residency such as a utility bill or deed; and verification of income (preschool only) such as a W-2 Form, check stub, tax form, OWF case number, food stamp number or Medicaid card. If the income verification is not presented, full pay tuition will apply.

Preschool classes are offered for three- and four-year-olds all day, five days a week and children must reach the required ages on or before Aug. 1, 2020. Kindergarten classes take place all day, five days a week and students must turn 5 on or before Aug. 1, 2020.
