Jones named Student of the Month

Patricia Jones & Mr. Garwood

LISBON — Patricia Jones, daughter of Kimberly and Williams Jones, is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s May Student of the Month. She is a Beaver Local student who attends the CCCTC full day. She is enrolled in the Landscape and Environmental Design career lab under the instruction of Mr. John Garwood.

She is a member of organizations at both the CCCTC and her home school. Her memberships include the Drug-Free Team, Beaver Local Red Pride Marching band, Leo Club, FFA, and National Technical Honor Society. She exhibits wonderful leadership skills holding the position of Treasurer for the CCCTC Chapter of FFA and the position of Secretary for the CCCTC Chapter of National Technical Honor Society. She has earned the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association industry credential in Ohio Certified Nursery Technician – Landscape.

Her future plans are to attend Hocking College to become a Natural Resource Officer; then further her education in the field of Wildlife Resource Management. She is currently working in the industry for L&M Greenhouse. She feels the CCCTC was a good choice for her because it took her out of her comfort zone and influenced her networking skills and ability to build relationships. “The LED lab has taught me not only landscaping itself but how to take care of myself financially and life skills that I will rely on in the future.”

She was nominated by Mr. John Garwood who states “Patricia works hard and is a very dedicated, detailed person, along with being a pleasure to have in class.”
