WELLSVILLE -- The Wellsville Lions Club has selected Seth Kerner as the Student of the Month for April. He is the son of Christy Rodgers and Justin Gerren of Salineville.
His academic awards include the following, 3.75 Honors, AB-Honor Roll and National Honor Society. He also attends the East Liverpool Campus of Kent State University as a member of the College Credit Plus dual credit program.
During hish High School Career, he was active in many ways. He was a four year member of Spirit Club and Varsity W, a two year member of Science Club, he was a two year member of Project Paws, and the Sports Manager for Publications class.
He is a four year member of the wrestling team where he was a three year captain, EOWL Placer, and D3 Classic Place winner. He was a four year member of the baseball team where he earned the OVAC-All American Academic Award, the All Conference Award, two time defensive player of the year, and received EOAC 2nd team honors. He was a three year member of the bowling team, three year member of the golf team and two year member of the Football team. He was also the 2018 Fall Homecoming King.
He is involved in many community activities in addition to his scholastic endeavors. He has participated in the Christmas food drive, Trunk or Treat, Tag days for his athletics, Relay for Life, youth baseball camp leader and American Cancer Society volunteer.
After graduation, he plans to attend Thiel College and study Health Systems.
