LISBON -- Lucas Duncan, son of Cheryl and David Duncan, was chosen the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center's March Student of the Month. A student from Columbiana High School, he is enrolled in the Information Technology Academy under the instruction of Mr. Bob Melczak. He is a member of the Business Professionals of America Organization while holding the title of President of the CCCTC BPA chapter during the 18-19 School year. He has qualified for the BPA State Competition during both of his years at the CCCTC, and at the BPA Regional competition, he finished as the Regional Champion in 3 different categories of competitions. He earned his Industry Recognized Certifications in CompTIA-IT Fundamentals and CompTIA- Cloud Essentials. He is currently in the Work-Based Learning program working for the IT Department at the CCCTC. His future plans are to work in the IT Field while pursuing a degree at the Eastern Gateway Community College in Information Technology. He feels the CCCTC was a great choice for him because it allowed him to continue his education in a field he enjoyed around others who share the same passion.
He was nominated by Mr. Melczak who describes Lucas as "reliable and dependable, he completes his assignments ahead of time, and is someone I would gladly work with in the industry."
